Faux de Lis specializes in decorative painting for both residential and commercial spaces, as well as all
aspects of interior design such as window treatments, floor coverings, and spatial planning.
Our team consists of two decorative artists, Mary Ann Farrell and Jackie Grenier. Both have been
schooled in the areas of faux finishing and interior design, and each has over ten years of professional
experience.
Mary Ann possesses an A.A.S. degree in Interior Design/Home Furnishings from Nassau Community
College. Prior to completing her degree, she was schooled at the Metropolitan School of Design. In
addition, she has 30 years of experience working in the field of textiles.
Since 2000, Mary Ann has been attending classes at the Finishing School, which is nationally renowned
as a major teaching center for decorative painting. They offer training in the latest and most cutting edge
products and techniques to hit the market in every area from utilizing plasters and glazes to creating
murals and Trompe l’oeil.
In 2009 - 2011, Mary Ann served as the President of the Long Island Chapter of the International
Decorative Artisans League (I.D.A.L.) and has headed projects to both further the education of its
members, as well as give back to the community through charitable works. She is also an Associate
Member of the Interior Design Society (I.D.S.).
Jackie has her Bachelor of Science degree, and has taken extensive classes in both the fine arts and
decorative painting. Also a student of the Finishing School, she furthered her education at Nassau
Community College in both Interior Design and Fine Art. Her coursework includes drawing, painting,
sculpture, art history, and drafting, to name a few. She has also been working professionally in the field
of decorative painting since 2000.
Both Mary Ann and Jackie make it a priority to learn the newest products and trends by constantly
taking classes and attending seminars offered by some of the biggest names in the business like Faux
Effects, Benjamin Moore, Sherwin Williams, Robert Allen, and Kravet. It is our mission to ensure that
